Local Special Ability
While your army contains only Egyptians, this unit
gains 4 attack dice. While your army contains only Greeks, this unit gains
2 defense dice
Notes from Drake the Lesser
- A unit is Egyptian if it has the Egyptian faction symbol.
A unit is Greek if it has the Greek keyword
on its unit card.
-
Hellenic Pride is only available on commander figures, so you can never have more
than one ready Hellenic Pride icon per unit.
- Four dice is currently the largest single-icon bonus in the game.
- Hellenic Pride applies to the current state of your army, not its starting
state. If you have mixed Egyptian and Greek units, the 2 extra defense
dice will kick in as soon as all your non-Greeks are killed.
Official Ruling
- Hellenic Pride is a passive ability. It is always active, and does not
cost any order points.
-
Mercenaries are a separate faction, so an army with mercenary units present
does not qualify for the Hellenic Pride bonus. Official Ruling
- Unlike Xenophobic, the bonuses from Hellenic Pride apply
in combat against all opposing units, even Egyptians.
-
In the rulebook, the red dice rolled during close combat are attack dice
and the blue dice rolled during ranged combat are ranged dice. Since
this ability mentions attack dice, it only applies to
close combat.
-
The rules state that you cannot issue a close combat order
unless you have at least one ready red die icon. As a result, you cannot
make a close combat or breakaway attack if Hellenic Pride is your
only source of attack dice.
