1 OP-- Target an enemy unit within 6
steps to which this unit has a non-blocked
line of sight. This unit deals damage
to the target equal to the number of this unit's ready Fireburst icons.
This unit deals 1 damage to each unit adjacent to the target.
(This includes friendly units.)
Notes from Drake the Lesser
- The only defense against Fireburst is Wall of Mist.
Not even the Tough ability reduces the damage.
- The damage done to units adjacent to the target is called splash
damage. The splash damage is always one point, regardless of the
number of Fireburst icons used.
- Fireburst can be used to target an adjacent unit, but then the
originating unit will take a point of splash damage.

This ability is a special order, so it can only be used once per turn for a
given unit.
- Fireburst is only available on arcane figures (green circle), and you
can have only three of any given arcane figure on a unit. In order to
get more than three Fireburst icons on a unit, you need to use two
Firebursting figure types, which means combining figures from different
factions. The faction penalties in this case are extreme, as you can see
in the Flaming Death unit, which is capable
of delivering 6 points of Fireburst damage per turn but costs 1950 points.
For this reason, the practical maximum Fireburst damage is 3.
Changes from the Original Rules
- In the original rules, this ability was not affected by
blocking terrain. Now it requires an unblocked line of sight.
