Local Special Ability
Enemy units adjacent to this unit are in range
of any friendly Han ranged combat attack. (Your Han units
with range can target units adjacent to this one even if they are out of
range. Range penalties and blocking rules still apply.)
Notes from Drake the Lesser
- This is not a special order. When
you use Call the Iron Rain, you will be issuing a normal ranged combat order. The
ability merely allows you to target enemy units that would otherwise be
out of range.
- In order to use Call the Iron Rain, the unit with the ability needs to
get into the thick of combat. Don't be afraid to push
to get it into position; however, retain as much defense as possible,
because your opponent will retaliate violently once you're among his
forces.
- When you use Call the Iron Rain, the attacking unit is always firing into
melee. This means it will take a penalty unless it has
Precision.
- Call the Iron Rain does not allow an artillery unit to fire through blocking
terrain or to fire out of melee. All it does is increase
the attacking unit's range to greater than the standard 6
steps.Official Ruling
- You can use Call the Iron Rain to draw a Sniper or
Thrown Weapon attack, since these are now considered
normal ranged combat; however, the attacking units must be Han, and
the figures that have these abilities cost double when put on a Han
base.
