All That Glitters

I looked in amazement at the largest amount of gold I had ever seen, lying there at the mine entrance unguarded. But on the horizon, unholy Egyptian trrops were assembling to take my prize. I turned to my adjutant. "Assemble the men. We are going to take that gold before our enemines do. Hurry now, and bring the horses!"

Special Rules for this Combat

PALLET PLACEMENT Place a specially-marked sortie base over each marker terrain. This will act as a pallet of gold.
PALLET MANAGEMENT
  • Pallets act as friendly units for purposes of movement (snapping and sliding apply) but do not affect line of sight.
  • To pick up a pallet, move into base contact with it so that you align one of your notches with a notch on the pallet. This ends movement. At the beginning of any subsequent movement order, you may disengage from the pallet at no cost; otherwise, the pallet moves as if it were glued to your unit, and the unit suffers a penalty of 2 movement points. In this case, your unit is said to be towing the pallet.
  • If two opposing units are in notch-to-notch contact with the pallet, it cannot be moved.
  • A unit may only tow one pallet at a time.
  • Regrouping never changes the position of the pallet.
  • The pallet must always lie flat on the table and cannot overlap terrain that blocks or hinders movement.
  • Once a pallet has been towed to its destination, it is removed from the battlefield and the victory points are scored immediately.

Terrain Items

Control1 Acts as control terrain for both players. Units can move through this terrain. Snapping is optional.
Blocking2 Units cannot move through this terrain and must snap to it, ending movement. Terrain blocks line-of-sight.
Blocking4 Units cannot move through this terrain and must snap to it, ending movement. Terrain blocks line-of-sight.
Mark1 Unit movement is not affected by this terrain. This terrain marks a specific point on the battlefield.
